Fall and Winter Fashion for Ladies 2012 – 2013
As fall settles in and slowly turns to winter, the world seems to slow down and things begin to warm up around the house. The smell of fresh baking and decorations for family oriented parties are followed by the laughter of the young and old alike. While these seasons make the indoors the warmest place on the planet, there is a time to get out and get shopping. When you head out, you want to look your best and nothing gives you as much flexibility as a cold season when extra clothing is required to keep warm.
Melting the Snow
This year the plan is to turn the cold winter days into hot winter nights. Jessica Alba may have set a trend all on her own by wearing a men’s slim-cut white tuxedo jacket. Making sure that form fitting is key, but the color choices could be flexible if black and white isn’t appropriate for the outing. While the subject of outerwear is floating around, fur coats are making a big splash this year. You don’t need to go full fur to get the look though; a leather jacket with a fur collar can do more for you than dressing up as a big furry bear this year. Stick with the upper parts of your jacket showing off your animal side but keep the rest sleek and simple.
Getting Colorful
For so long, color matching was important, but this year things are getting quirky. Mix some bold colors for your jacket, hat, purse or pants and make a big statement as you travel through the shops. Be careful about how crazy you go with your coloring though, ensure that there is a balance. You can also mix in thigh-high boots with just about any style. Not only do these boots keep more of you warm, they can add a level of sexy that will melt the ice as you walk from shop to shop.
Bright red is also seeing a rise in popularity this year and can easily fit in with many of the previously mentioned styles. Spend some time experimenting to find where it fits best, but don’t be afraid to stop cars in this bold choice. If you prefer to keep things dark, going all black is in this season, as long as you are textured. Flat black isn’t going to do anything for you, but add some fur or other texturing and you’ll look great no matter where you are.
Getting Casual
On quick trips out, go with the puffy look. Puffy jackets are not only warm, due to the full serving of down that gives them that unique “puffiness”, but they make a great fashion accessory for the casual weekend out on the town. Don’t be afraid to wear some casual, or even formal white clothing this season, just keep it creamy and warm, or a winter white in a rich fabric. To go with the luxe effect sneak in some gold or other favorable color to take the casual to formal.
If in this winter you want to design own clothes then it would be a good idea and an early start is even better 🙂
