Impress Your Guests: Fun Party Favor Ideas
With Spring here, and summer on the way, it is time for backyard barbeques and weekend family gatherings. Instead of the same worn-out party favors like cellophane wrapped cookies, or bubbles for the kids, try some different favors that are sure to win your guests over and remind them of your party for months afterward.
Peeps On A Stick
With Spring, and especially Easter, right around the corner, peeps will be everywhere in the supermarkets. For a fun and inexpensive party favor, buy peeps in a variety of colors as well as plastic or wooden sticks. Take 3-4 peeps, one of each color preferably, and put them on the stick just like a sucker. Wrap in cute food-safe paper and tie with a bow for an adorable favor that will look great in a basket by the door.
Domino Goody Bags
Okay, so goody bags have been around for quite some time, but they’re a classic because they’re easy to make and can be easily customized. Get the kids involved on this one. Buy solid colored bags and grab some construction paper. Help the kids cut out dots and small lines. Glue the dots onto the bags in the pattern of a domino (with a line in the middle). Write each guest’s name on one of the dots for an even more custom look. You can do black dots, or get even more colorful.
Sprinkled Snack Favors
Head down to your local grocery and pick up some lollipop sticks, chocolate, and marshmallows. Stick a marshmallow on the end of each stick. Melt your chocolate and dip the marshmallow, coating it in delicious chocolate. Add sprinkles! You can make them themed, such as red, white, and blue sprinkles for Fourth of July, or orange and black sprinkles for Halloween. You can also use a variety of treats if you’ve got extra time. Pretzels, rice crispy treats, and even strawberries are easy and delicious fondues that you can cool and give out later.
Function and Fun
For a gift that will last a while, give your guests a functional cell phone case. You can get frames for cheap online and use your own graphics or stickers to decorate them. If you know your guests intimately, it can make for a great surprise to get a case they will love and actually use. For a little cheaper get simple pencil cases and decorate them according to the party theme or even just the personality of each gift.
Personalized Lip Balm
Pick up a variety of lip balms for this fun favor. Get blank stickers and then decorate them with the name of your guest. Stick the stickers around your tube of lip balm for a personalized, fun, and practical gift all year around. The kids can help with making the stickers which can give you a little extra time to get the party set up, too!
Making party favors doesn’t have to be a bore and routine. Get creative and unique to leave your guests talking about your party for months to come. Make them match the theme of the party and give your guests a nice surprise at the end of the night.
