Keeping it Minimal
When your life seems overly cluttered, you find solace in the “less is more,” approach. Thankfully, interior design trends are over with their love for stuffing everything in one room, from furniture to beddings. Joshua Becker said, “Minimalism is the intentional promotion of the things we most value and the removal of anything that distracts us from it.” And just how true these words by Joshua are because as we see the new trends settling in, they show how designers focus more on particular objects and then mold their entire décor around it. It is an art to transform an area or space into a something that appeals the eye without creating too many distractions.
In the world of interior designing, a lot has been happening; the designers are experimenting with different colors, themes, architectural details and what not. There are no limitations when it comes to creativity and specifically interior décor. You can use the colors you love the most, or just trust the word of experts. However, there are particular themes and looks that have and still are loved by many designers. For quite some time now designers and décor artists have been following the minimalistic approach quite religiously as compared to others. Well, we don’t blame them for that because keeping things minimal in décor is just the best way to utilize your aesthetic needs while keeping it on point. Minimalistic themes have a futuristic, immaculate and a neat appeal to them which make them even more loved and adaptable.
In the beginning, the minimalist or less-is-more themes were more work space interior oriented to give small spaces a modern look without the expansion of area. Thankfully these minimal trends are now integrated into home décor as well. People are more into simple yet modern interior designing now as compared fancy or cluttered decors that are just too much for a small or even a large area. Here are some fine décor looks which can be easily tried out for your home decor, home office or even at your corporate work station.
Inducing Tranquility:
Colors like: white, gray neutrals, blue and light wooden hues are all a constant part of minimalist themes and decor. So if you want to give your house a minimalist makeover go for serene shades which will not make a room appear bigger and gives your more space to work with. Accent pieces like simple lamp shades to ensure perfect lighting at the right place are a must in minimal décor; they are the accessory you can never go wrong with. Careful arrangement of picture frames and neat furnishing like: low bed sets or mattress on floor, exposed shelves and racks are all a part of the minimal themes. Apart from all these a minimal décor enjoys light and simplicity to an extent that the carpets or rugs are kept plain and windows can be covered with sheer white curtains or blinds.
Hues of Gray:
Minimal lovers have two particular favorite colors, one is gray and the other is white. There is a certain elegant charm about these two colors that inducing them into your décor will naturally bring out a flawless look fort your entire décor. With gray or any other color there is a fair amount of white in a simple theme is always needed. These colors are chosen because it is all about defining fine lines and planes and light or dark tones of gray know how to do this. If you’re low on budget and can’t remodel your home to a minimalist theme then the best way to do so is to de-clutter the space from every unnecessary items on display that might be distracting the attention from the key elements. A simple bed set with elegant lamp shades will do just the trick. If everything seems too plain and dull, then infusing a patterned vibe through a printed rug can always save the day.
It is all in Black and White:
If you are truly in love with this ever stylish combo of black and white, then minimalism is the answer for you. You can now include the two in interior decor through minimalism. Infusing black into décor can get a bit tricky because black is the darkest of all colors. Using this dark color in a décor requires it to be balanced in a way that it tones down the grim and dark nature of this color. You can fix this color into your design by keeping more white and highlighting it with black. If you accentuate the corners and fine lines with black while keeping a major portion white it can look grand without giving off a dark feel. You also can keep the walls white and add black tiled details around the edges of your wall.
Through Minimalist interior décor you can bring out the real beauty of architecture, and interior. It is the best way to keep things low key without making them appear dull or boring.
