No-Cost Creative DIY Bedroom Storage Ideas
Making your own storage can save you a significant amount of money while adding a personal touch to your bedroom. That way, instead of having a generic storage item in your room you can feel proud you made something unique yourself.
The internet is a great resource for creative ideas so we have searched for some of the best, cheap, bedroom storage ideas out there.
You will first need to first make sure that you are completely organised and have all the materials you need on hand. As we mentioned in a previous post DIY décor need not be expensive. By recycling old household items you no longer need or use you can have a brand new piece of storage for your room.
1. Wall Hangers
Use wall space to display accessories and clothing items you love, such as necklaces, hats, ties and scarfs.
A great no-cost idea is to use an old wine rack to display your clutches and handbags. It will add a unique and creative feel to your bedroom.
Another great wall storage idea is to use an old picture frame to hang your jewellery on. You can make this by covering the frame with fly screen, wire or even lace so that it is easy to hook your earrings onto.
Why not try tying strings horizontally across the wine rack to create a unique hanger for your sunglasses?
2. Makeup Storage
Do you have an old spice rack hanging around that you never use? Why not use it to display your nail polishes? It will add a vintage style aesthetic to your room while recycling something you otherwise would have thrown out.
If you have an extra shoe organiser hanging around you can use it to display lipsticks and makeup brushes.
3. Magnetic Racks
Magnetic racks are a great way to store tweezers, nail scissors, hair clips or even your child’s tiny, metal cars. Attach a powerful magnet to a shelf or wall in your bedroom and clip on any metal items that you want easy access to or simply wish to have on display. Doing so can also be a great way to save space.
4. DIY Laundry Bag
To save money don’t buy a boring, commercial laundry basket when instead you can do it yourself! Grab some old fabric and make your own laundry bag and then hang it on the inside of your cupboard door. It will add a creative and personal feel to your bedroom.
Follow simple these steps to make your own.
5. Baskets Galore
Old baskets can be easily recycled into storage units. For example, mount baskets that you no longer use on your wall to create a new shelf for your books or anything else you need to store.
