You can’t do without home maintenance… whether it’s painting stains off your walls and ceilings, fixing broken floors, sorting out the plumbing, even using a hammer and a handful of other mundane things in and around your home. But what you can do without is the random help that you bring into your house to have all these things done for you. Exactly… why bother with someone else when you can do it yourself? Well don’t know about that… but here’s why you shouldn’t bother with random help from the outside.

Now you’ve probably heard and read of several incidents in the newspapers, on TV, the internet or flying gossip about how dodgy most if not all maintenance contractors and labor can be. And we don’t just mean that in the crooked or corrupt sense… we’re talking about the pervs as well.
Maintenance labor and contractors tend to be very tricky about their business. Obviously… there’s a very good chance that you have no clue of the job that you’re assigning them with; and this is something that they’re very well aware of. So naturally it’s not hard for them to make a fool out of you unless you make the effort of doing your own bit of research – which you should do. Besides why risk bringing in someone who could possibly leave with one of your valuable crystals or chinaware… or something else!

Household maintenance can be a tad bit heavy on your pocket. And the addition of labor or a contractor to those costs can leave you behind with a towering bill. So why pay that extra bit of money when you can do the job on your own and save some for money for that shiny sequins Aztec dress you have your eyes on?

The internet is one heck of a resource bucket as Google knows everything! You can probably find countless DIY guides all over the web from what saws and screwdrivers you should be using to the basics of painting, applying finishing touches to what themes to use. Really… it’s just a matter of taking out the time, sitting and reading; and you can pretty much cut down your maintenance costs by as much as half.. And then maybe later DI4O – Do It For Others!

A lot of people think regular household maintenance is rather mundane. But it’s actually quite the opposite. We’ve all loved paint and making a mess with it in our early years. So why not think of your walls as a really big sheet of paper?

Home maintenance can actually be quite fun. Okay maybe not the plumbing bit or fixing the under-floor heating… but what you can do while fixing your soft and hard furnishings in only limited by your imagination. We don’t think that you’d have as much as freedom with a contractor or paid labor around.
Sure… if the job requires hard menial work… let ’em in… but be careful!
